Joe Mooney’s welded steel and stainless steel sculptures utilize formal visual and compositional elements. He reveals the dynamic nature of space while exploring the juxtaposition of organic shapes and architectural structures. The essential force driving his sculptures are the stories he creates, inspired by myths, ancient tales and biblical figures. Joe Mooney received a MFA from Alfred University, Alfred New York, in 1980; a BFA from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA, in 1978; and a BS from Villanova University, Villanova, PA, in 1974. The sculpture is no longer on display (April 2015).
