CHALKFEST 2024

Reston Town Center

October 20, 10am – 6pm

The return of ChalkFest was a big success! On a sunny Sunday, October 20, 2024, artists, families, children and art lovers of all ages turned the streets of the Reston Town Center into a vibrant, open-air art gallery of beautiful chalk designs.

We had around 300 participants overall, and more than 1,000 Festival attendees!

Visitors were able to enjoy face painting for the little ones, and live entertainment by Bach to Rock Herndon.

Prizes in various categories were given to the best drawings, including Professional Artists, Amateur Artists, Families & Kids, and People’s Choice Awards.

At 4:00 pm all the drawings were evaluated by a team of Judges including Marco Rando, Artist and South Lakes STEAM Team Teacher; Tracie Griffith Tso, Artist and Art Instructor at Reston Community Center; and SLHS Seniors Izzie Brabant and Haley Caicedo.

At 5:30pm winners were announced by Hunter Mills Supervisor Walter Alcorn, Reston Community Center Executive Director Bebe Nguyen, and Arts Fairfax President and CEO, Stuart Holt.
