The Midtown Community Mural on New Dominion Parkway was commissioned from local Reston artist Dana Scheurer to enliven the public wall of a condominium property in Reston Town Center. Scheurer drew on her characteristic geometric interplay of forms that she captures in bright, saturated colors. The faceted scene includes many recognizable landmarks of art and architecture from the around Reston Town Center and situates the work within its site. The centerpiece of the scene features a life-sized image of Reston’s founder, Robert E. Simon, Jr., operating an old-style camera, and presents an interactive photo opportunity for neighbors, passers-by and tourists. The mural was painted with a specific weather resistant and durable paint by Bryan King of Artifice, Inc.

Owned by Midtown North Condominium Owners Association

Sponsored by Kettler Companies, Fairfax County Neighborhood Enhancement Partnership Program Grant, Public Art Reston, Reston Town Center Association, Reston Historic Trust, and private donors.
