On Top of the World
n.d. | Steel
On Top of the World depicts a colorful but abstracted figure in a tall hat seeming to balance atop a frame orb. Created by artist Richard Felix Dennis, this steel sculpture stands at a modest twenty-one inches yet has an incredibly strong presence at the Parkridge Center. It was one of the original works presented at the Outdoor Sculpture Invitational in 1991 and was originally brought to the site as a way to bring attention and business to Parkridge Corporate Campus. Although met with criticism by business owners and employees when it was first constructed, On Top of the World soon came to be regarded as a landmark within the office park.
